Bereavement

Bereavement is an experience that can happen to any of us and you may be reading this page because someone close to you has died recently. Please accept our sincere condolences, we appreciate the pain and distress that you may be feeling after the death of a friend or relative.

As a Trust, we want to support families at this difficult time, offering help and advice to assist with the immediate and long term effects of grief, as well as the practicalities associated with every death.  A number of booklets have been developed to support you following a personal bereavement.

Launch of the HSC Bereavement Network Website

The new Health and Social Care (HSC) Bereavement Network website for those who care for and support dying people and their loved ones, was launched recently at Stormont by Health Minister, Simon Hamilton.

The aim of the website is to support staff to deliver a person-centred, high-quality, consistent approach to care of individuals and their families at this very difficult time. The website consists of information and guidance for HSC professionals and services responsible for care and support around the time of, and after death.
