Dr Taggart and his team have developed a system for the aggressive management of patients with early rheumatoid arthritis. It encompasses more regular patient review and targeted therapeutic intervention together with involvement of modalities such as musculoskeletal ultrasound and cardiovascular risk assessment.

This evidence-based system of tight disease control has the potential to achieve much better results than conventional modes of treatment.
