Belfast Trust Pharmacist wins Pharmacist of the Year Award for 2009

Musgrave Park Hospital Pharmacist Paula Crawford has won the prestigious Hospital Pharmacist of the Year Award for 2009.

The Judges at the NI Healthcare Awards commended Paula’s innovative work which has enhanced patient care. Her expertise in pain management has been recognised both regionally and nationally, resulting in her being the first pharmacist in the UK to be a member of a NICE guideline development group.

The Royal College of Anaesthetists has also asked Paula to join their epidural guideline development team.

Paula leads a team of clinical pharmacists in Musgrave Park. This team recently won a 2009 Chairman’s award with a project entitled ‘The Pharmacist, The Patient and Pre-Operative Assessment Team: Working together to improve medicines safety’. Read more about the Chairman's Awards
