Three in five of us will become a carer at some point in our lives, providing unpaid care to someone we know who is ill, frail or disabled. We would not expect to sacrifice our own lives as a result but, all too often, that is what happens.  As part of National Carers Week the Trust has launched a Carers Strategy 2010 – 2015.

Three in five of us will become a carer at some point in our lives, providing unpaid care to someone we know who is ill, frail or disabled. We would not expect to sacrifice our own lives as a result but, all too often, that is what happens.

As part of National Carers Week the Trust has launched a Carers Strategy 2010 – 2015, which demonstrates its ongoing commitment to improving the range and quality of services provided for carers and aspires to ensure that all carers are identified, both young and adult, and are encouraged to avail of the support that is available.

It is also a recognition of the vital role played by carers and that they are fundamental to strong families and stable communities.
