Shankill Health and Wellbeing Centre has officially been handed over to the Trust by Health Minister Michael McGimpsey.
The new centre is one of seven similar centres that have been built across Belfast since 2005, and will bring together services which are currently being delivered from 11 different facilities.

Speaking at the new facility, Michael McGimpsey said "Having been here to cut the first sod in May 2009, it is with great satisfaction that I have returned to see the official handing over of this marvellous facility to the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. This state-of-the-art Health and Wellbeing Centre will provide a range of services to the local community in West Belfast in a one-stop shop, modernising the way primary care services are delivered at a local level."

The Shankill Health and Wellbeing centre is expected to be operational by summer 2010 and has been built at a capital cost of £15 million.
