World Suicide Prevention Day

10 September is World Suicide Prevention Day, and is an opportunity to highlight this important issue. In 2010, 313 deaths in Northern Ireland were registered as suicide, and on average someone in the world takes their own life every 40 seconds.

Belfast Trust is working locally to tackle this issue, and is a member of the Protect Life Communities of Interest, a group that includes statutory organisations, faith groups and voluntary and community organisations.  The group works together to co-ordinate services, raise awareness, provide training , identify and share good practice.
