Trust staff encouraged to get on their bikes as part of UK Bike Week

19/06/2012

With the Trust employing 20,000 staff, all of whom travel to work, we are conscious of the volume of traffic this activity generates and the impact on our carbon footprint.

In an attempt to combat this pollution and to encourage a healthier lifestyle the Trust promotes our Cycle to Work Scheme

Belfast Trust is celebrating bike week from 18 – 24 June with a range of activities planned across Northern Ireland which we are encouraging our staff to join in.

Highlights include:

  • Bike to Work Day on Friday 22nd June where you can claim your free breakfast at Bobbin Cafe in the City Hall from 8am -10am
  • Endless Summer of Cycling Event on Saturday 23rd of June from 11am -2pm. Here you can try out the challenging mountain bike trials or get up to speed with maintenance workshops. There will also be a Cycle Safety Skills Session and Cycle Orienteering.
