The MRI Scanner Project will provide a new Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanner in the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children

Chief Executive Colm Donaghy at the Project Launch for the Children’s MRI Scanner, has signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the charities involved.

The MRI Scanner Project will provide a new Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanner in the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children (RBHSC) to allow children requiring MRI scanning to be scanned in an appropriate paediatric environment by staff trained in the care of children.

The project is jointly funded by the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and the Children’s MRI Scanner Appeal, with four charities involved in the appeal: Helping Hand, Children’s Heartbeat Trust, Carrickmannon MRI Scanner Appeal and Northern Ireland Children’s Cancer Fund.
