Mouth Cancer Action Month

01/11/2016

Staff members from the Health Improvement Department have been wearing eye-catching blue lipstick to remind us all to be ‘Mouthaware this November’.

Mouth Cancer can affect the lips, tongue, cheeks, throat and gums. If you notice any ulcers, red or white patches, lumps and bumps, or swelling that doesn’t heal in three weeks, you should visit your Dentist or GP.

The sooner Mouth Cancer is detected, the better the outcome will be. This why we want to raise awareness and encourage you to check your mouth this November!

The great news is that Cancer Research UK found that Mouth Cancer is 91% preventable. Throughout this month, our Oral Health Improvement Team will be discussing how to limit your risk of Mouth Cancer.
