Gold Award for Specialist Registrar


Dr Gemma Corey was awarded the Gold Award in the Final FRCR in Clinical Oncology.

This award is presented to the trainee, taking their first attempt, who achieved the best performance UK-wide in that sitting in the Final FRCR. 

She was presented with the award on Friday 19th May.

Dr Corey is a Specialist Registrar in Clinical Oncology at the Northern Ireland Cancer Centre, Belfast City Hospital.

She is pictured being congratulated on her success by Dr Seamus McAleer, Medical Director for Education and Training in Clinical Oncology at the Royal College of Radiologists.

This award is very prestigious and Gemma is the only Oncologist currently working in Northern Ireland to have achieved this honour. The last time this Gold Medal was awarded to a doctor from Northern Ireland was over 25 years ago.
