Draft Savings Proposals Consultation Feedback

Today at a public Trust Board meeting, Belfast Trust stood down all but one of its major draft savings proposals that, if implemented, would have impacted on the Trust's ability to deliver certain services for the rest of the financial year.

The Board of the Trust has endorsed for consideration and recommendation by the Health and Social Care Board (HSCB) and Department of Health one proposal around the substitution of very expensive drug treatments for clinically-suitable, safe, and effective alternative treatments that are less expensive. This will now proceed to further consideration by the HSCB and final decision-making by the Department of Health.
