Become Antibiotic Guardian Chance to win brand new iPad

Today, 18 November is European Antibiotic Awareness Day (EAAD). This is a European-wide annual event that aims to raise awareness on how to use antibiotics in a responsible way that will help keep them effective for the future.

Antibiotics are essential medicines for treating bacterial infections in both humans and animals, but are losing their effectiveness at an increasing rate. Overuse of antibiotics is a major factor in the rise of drug-resistant infections, and Northern Ireland has the highest consumption of antibiotics in the UK per head of population.
