Become Antibiotic Guardian Chance to win brand new iPad

18/11/2015

Today, 18 November is European Antibiotic Awareness Day (EAAD). This is a European-wide annual event that aims to raise awareness on how to use antibiotics in a responsible way that will help keep them effective for the future.

Antibiotics are essential medicines for treating bacterial infections in both humans and animals, but are losing their effectiveness at an increasing rate. Overuse of antibiotics is a major factor in the rise of drug-resistant infections, and Northern Ireland has the highest consumption of antibiotics in the UK per head of population.

Become an Antibiotic Guardian and be in with a chance to win a brand new iPad

To mark this year’s EAAD you are encouraged to become an Antibiotic Guardian at https://antibioticguardian.com/ and pledge one action you will take to reduce antibiotic resistance. It is open to all, both clinicians and non-clinical staff, as well as members of the public. When you make a pledge on-line, you will receive an acknowledgement email by return and also the opportunity to print a certificate.

Forward your acknowledgement email to HSC.amrs@hscni.net  and you could win a brand new iPad, courtesy of the PHA.
