Belfast Trust foster carers win Lifetime Achievement Award

Belfast HSC Trust Foster Carers Billy and Mandy Johnston have been awarded with a Lifetime Achievement Award in the annual Foster Carer of the Year Awards which took place at the Titanic Centre on Friday 5 June.

Margaret Kelly, Director of The Fostering Network Northern Ireland, said: “Fostering is part of the fabric of our society. It is people standing up, giving their love and opening their homes, and dedicating their lives to the betterment of others. The Fostering Network is proud to present awards to both foster carers and kinship carers, those who have given a lifetime of service to the children of Northern Ireland, and to the fostering services that support them.”

The awards are part of Foster Care Fortnight, which runs from Monday 1 to Sunday 14 June. The annual campaign, run by The Fostering Network, is highlighting the urgent need for 170 more foster families across Northern Ireland.
