About the Awards

The Best Kept awards ran by the Northern Ireland Amenity Council are in their 57th year and this year received their highest number of entries.
The Healthcare category is of upmost importance, this is divided into 3 categories i.e. Residential, Daycare and Residential. It encourages both user and staff participation in promoting the absence of litter, environmental enhancement e.g. Flowerbeds, baskets, tubs, boxes etc.

Participating also encourages individuals and communities to care about their surroundings in which they live. The residential category encourages providers to improve their facilities and upgrade their maintenance; in many projects the clients have been involved in the development and maintenance of the gardens and grounds. The Daycare facility category is targeted towards Daycentres, where groups include people with physical and learning disabilities together with vulnerable children and young adults.
