Foster Care Fortnight : 12-25 May 2014

There are 2,807 children and young people in care in Northern Ireland (31 March 2013) with approximately 75% of these vulnerable children and young people living in foster care.

Fostering provides children who cannot live at home with alternative care where they can benefit from a nurturing home life for as long as they need it.

Belfast Trust Fostering Service is urging anyone who is interested in becoming a foster carer to find out more. The ideal person will like children, be child centred in their approach and be able to give love, fun and security. It is important to be resilient, flexible and to have realistic expectations.
