International Mens Health Week Tuesday 14 June 2011

To celebrate International Men’s Health Week, the Men’s Health Group led by the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, partner organisations and voluntary and community groups will be hosting a Men’s Health event in Belfast City Hall on Tuesday 14 June from 10.30am till 2.00pm.

The theme in Northern Ireland is ‘Promoting and Supporting the Health and Well-Being of Men and Boys During Challenging Times’. The current economic recession is having a huge impact upon the health and well-being of local males. However there are many other challenges facing local men and boys. One of the biggest risks to men’s health is their reluctance to seek help at times of difficulty or to take part in health improvement programmes.
