Chairman - Peter McNaney

Mr Peter McNaney, CBE, became Chairman of Belfast Trust on 3 March 2014, an appointment for a period of four years.

A Belfast resident, he was Chief Executive of Belfast City Council for 12 years and has spent his 30 year career in the public sector, 18 years as a lawyer and 12 as Chief Executive.
 
He has served on many external boards, including the Council of the Law Society, and has chaired the governing body of Belfast Metropolitan College and a number of citywide partnerships including the Belfast Strategic Health Partnership, Belfast Resilience and the Community Safety Partnership.
 
Peter was awarded a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2013 for services to Local Government and the Community

  

Chief Executive - Martin Dillon

Mr Martin Dillon took up post as Chief Executive for Belfast Trust in February 2017.

Martin formerly held the position of Director of Finance from December 2010 until taking up the post of Chief Executive of Belfast Trust. In tandem with his Director of Finance position Martin fulfilled the role as Deputy Chief Executive of Belfast Trust. During the period of July 2014 to December 2014 he also operated as Interim Chief Executive.

Martin has responsibility for key Ministerial priorities for the Trust, including improving the performance of unscheduled care services and elective care, as well as leading the development of a new 10-year strategic direction for the organization.

Martin has over 30 years experience in health and social care. He was Interim Director of Finance in Northern Trust and, prior to this, Director of Finance at Southern Trust.
