Sensory Support Team RNIB Glow Run

On Friday 16th October in the spirit of partnership the Sensory Support Team took part in a Glow Run to raise money for the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB).

RNIB are a charitable organisation, who work with everyone with a sight loss. The Belfast Trust Sensory Support Team work very closely with RNIB, to provide support to our service users. We decided to take part in this worthwhile event as we felt that our service users are greatly supported by RNIB. It was great to meet some of the staff from RNIB on the night and put faces to the names that we often speak with on the telephone.

The Team embraced the challenge of the 3km fun run, although there was more emphasis on the fun rather than the run! They had a fantastic night and in the spirit of the event the team dressed up in neon. At the beginning of the race there was a dance warm up and a tent where you could get glowing face paint and tattoos. The run itself was in the dark with parts of it lit with UV lights. At the end there was a booth where a group selfie could be taken, of course the Team didn’t pass on this opportunity!

All in all it was a great night for Team bonding and to strengthen our links with our voluntary sector colleagues. We raised £531.30!
