About the Awards

The Awards are led by the Health and Social Care Board (HSCB) to recognise and reward the efforts of social workers and highlight the positive impact of the profession on individuals, families and communities in Northern Ireland.

With over 5,000 social workers currently practicing in Northern Ireland, 90 social work teams and individuals were nominated for the awards and 24 shortlisted as finalists. Fionnuala McAndrew, Director of Social Care and Children at the Health and Social Care Board congratulated the award winners; “I am privileged to work with so many talented and hard working social work professionals who go beyond the call of duty to make a difference to the lives of adults, young people and children in our communities right across Northern Ireland. Well done to all of you awarded here today!”
