Christine Bleakley launches 'Text Santa' at Children's Hospital

Celebrity Christine Bleakley met with patients and staff in the Children’s hospital to launch an exciting new charity initiative from ITV1 – Text Santa.

The ‘Text Santa’ Christmas entertainment events will see a host of celebrities involved in two fun-filled festive shows on ITV, and will raise money for a range of charities across the UK including Helping Hand, the official charity of the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.

Live One Hour Special on 11 December

The first show kicks off on 11 December with a live one hour special hosted by Christine Bleakley and Phillip Schofield, with an exciting finale taking place on Christmas Eve, on ITV1. The programmes will bring to life the charities, and the hospitals and people they support. Throughout the shows, viewers will be encouraged to text their donation to the Text Santa appeal.

The aim of Text Santa is to raise awareness and money for those most vulnerable during the festive period and will appeal to the public to raise money mainly via text donation.

Speaking at the launch in the Children’s hospital Christine said “I’m totally thrilled to be involved in such a major charity initiative. I’m sure the public will help us raise Christmas sacks full of money for some incredibly worthwhile causes after witnessing some of the often unsung work they do all year round
