Dietitian Week Commencing 9 - 13 June 2014

Belfast Trust alongside the other 4 Trusts in Northern Ireland will be displaying an event stand at a Northern Ireland Assembly Parliamentary reception in Stormont on Tuesday 10th June as part of a British Dietetic Association (BDA) promotional event to celebrate the contribution of the dietetic profession in Northern Ireland.

This is an opportunity to showcase the profession and its impact on health. Belfast Trust dietitians will be involved and will promote some unique dietetic work within the Trust. Lucy Hull, Nutrition & Dietetic Service Manager within the Trust said “This is a great chance to showcase local innovative dietetic practices which reduce demand on other services through the provision of nutritional assessment and treatment in relation to preventative care, rehabilitation and maximising quality of life for patients – ultimately reducing the cost burden on health and social care services.”

Dietitians Week, organised by the British Dietitians Association (BDA), runs over the week commencing 9th June 2014. In addition to events being organised by the BDA members are running well in excess of 200 individual events around the UK.
