If you live in the Belfast area, the simplest way to travel to the Belfast City Hospital is by public transport. Metro Bus routes 9A and 9B pass the Lisburn Road entrance of the Belfast City Hospital on a regular basis while route 92A bus takes you to the Donegall Road entrance.

By Bus. Buses from the City centre stop right outside the Hospital. Metro Bus runs a regular service on routes 9A and 9B past the Lisburn Road entrance to the Hospital and Route 92A bus takes you to the Donegall Road entrance. Ulsterbus routes stop near the main entrances.

By Rail. If you live outside the Belfast area, it may be best for you to travel by rail. Northern Ireland Railways has a special railway station immediately adjacent to the Hospital running regular train service connections on the Bangor, Derry, Dublin, Larne, Newry, Portadown and Portrush lines to Great Victoria Street and Belfast Central Stations.

By Road. The Belfast City Hospital is situated just to the Southwest of Belfast City Centre and is located close to the M1 making it easily accessible via the Irish road network.

From the South via the M1. Leave at Junction 1 (sign-posted Belfast South) and join Donegall Road. Travel for just under 1 mile and the entrance to the Hospital will be seen on your right.

From the North via the M2. Travel through Junction 1 to the next intersection and take the second slip road (sign-posted City Centre) onto Nelson Street. Take the third turning right onto Great George’s Street and continue straight ahead to join Westlink, which is the City Centre by-pass. Travel for approximately 3 miles to Junction 1 of the M1 and at the roundabout turn left onto Donegall Road. Travel for just less than 1 mile and the entrance to the Hospital will be seen on your right.

By Air. Belfast City Airport is within easy reach of the Hospital (15 minutes by road) and has regular domestic flights. Belfast International Airport (30 minutes by road) has regular scheduled flights around Ireland and to the United Kingdom, Europe and International destinations.
