Clinical Governance DepartmentClinical governance is a framework, or process, for monitoring and improving the quality of care given to our patients. Green Park Healthcare Trust has been committed to this concept for some time and has been proactive in pursuing best practice and setting new standards in clinical governance in Northern Ireland. The Trust has established a Clinical and Social Care Governance Committee to oversee clinical governance activities. Both the Director of Nursing and Clinical Excellence and the Medical Director share responsibility for Clinical and Social Care Governance, and it is the responsibility of everyone working within the Trust. A clinical governance team assist staff in applying clinical governance to Trust Services. Patient and public involvement is central to the clinical governance agenda. Patient surveys are routinely undertaken throughout the Trust to gain views and learn more about what the public thinks of the services we provide. Regulation and inspection is undertaken by the Health and Social Services Regulation and Improvement Authority (HSSRIA) to ensure Trusts are complying with Clinical and Social Care Governance arrangements.
