Withers Orthopaedic CentreOrthopaedics is the branch of medicine devoted to the study and treatment of the skeletal system, joints, muscles and associated structures. Withers Orthopaedic Centre at Musgrave Park Hospital, Belfast is the regional centre for Orthopaedic services in Northern Ireland and includes the regional amputee rehabilitation service. It is one of the largest elective (planned) orthopaedic centres in Europe.
The Withers Orthopaedic Centre has six inpatient wards. An inpatient is a patient who stays one or more nights in hospital for treatment. Admissions are arranged by the patient’s Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon upon receipt of a referral letter from the patient’s General Practitioner (GP), or on transfer from another Hospital / Consultant. |
