The child and adolescent mental health services has issued a public invitation to Open Days in Beechcroft, the new Child and Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Unit, which will replace the services currently provided at Donard, Knockbracken. 

The Open Day will provide an opportunity for anyone who is interest to view Phase 1 of the new build, which will provide accommodation for up to 18 young people aged between 13-18yrs requiring Tier 4 assessment and treatment services.   Phase 2, which is still under construction, is due for completion in early April and will replace the children’s inpatient services.

Members of the clinical team will be on hand to show visitors around the building and answer questions about the services provided within the new unit.  Those interested in attending are welcome to drop by at any time throughout the course of the day.  We would however request that larger groups advise us of approximate numbers and times of arrival prior to the day. 

How to find the unit

As you enter the Forster Green Hospital site from the Glencregagh Road (off the Upper Knockbreda Road) you will see the new unit immediately on your left. 

There are car-parking facilities to the front of the building. 

We would advise that the building will be fully operational from week commencing 8^th February, when patients will be admitted to the new building and access to visitors will be restricted.  We would therefore encourage those who wish to the view the new facilities to take this opportunity to do so as the facilitation of future visits will be limited.
