Information for Outpatients

Welcome to Musgrave Park Hospital’s Outpatients Department. The department offers specialist care and highly skilled staff supported by the most modern technology available.

What to bring with you

Appointment letter.

DHSS Benefit Book, if eligible for travelling expenses. These are available if you claim certain benefits. Please ask at reception for details.

Outpatients

 

When you arrive

Please go to reception at the Outpatients Department. The receptionist will check your name, address, date of birth and General Practitioner, to make sure we have your correct details.

 

If you are delayed or cannot attend your appointment

If you are unable to attend your appointment please contact us as soon as possible by telephoning 028 9090 2000 ext 2827. If you are delayed please contact us as soon as possible by telephoning 028 9090 2000 ext 3599. By doing so we may be able to offer your appointment time to another patient.

 

About your appointment

You have been referred to the Outpatients Department for consultation with specialist clinical staff. You will be seen by a consultant or by another team member. We plan to see all patients within 30 minutes of their appointment time.

 

What happens next?

The consultant/clinical specialist will send a full report to your GP and he/she will be informed of any treatment you may require.

 

Smoking

This hospital operates an ‘Action on Smoking Policy’. The Outpatients Department is a no-smoking area.

If you are dissatisfied with the services provided either for yourself or someone in your care, you can use the Trust’s Complaints Procedure. A leaflet called "Compliments, Complaints and Suggestions" is available in the waiting area or you may contact the Complaints Manager on 028 9090 2000 ext 3028.
