06 April 07 - Visiting Restrictions Eased at Children’s Hospital

Media Release
Friday 6th April 2007

Visiting Restrictions Eased at Children’s Hospital

Visiting restrictions, in place over the winter months, at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children have now been relaxed.

As part of their annual drive to reduce the risk of infection in the wards, hospital staff had restricted visiting to wards in the Children’s Hospitals to parents only, from last November.

While the risk from winter viruses has receded the hospital is asking visitors to co-operate with staff by having no more than two people at the bedside at a time and requesting that all visitors use the dispensers in each ward area and adhere to the hospital’s handwashing guidelines
