Double Run for Organ DonationEnniskillen man, Mamraz Nagi will be raising awareness of organ donation this weekend by running the full circumference of Lower Lough Erne before meeting up with and completing the Enniskillen Rotary Club’s annual 10k run. Mamraz has linked up with the Belfast City Hospital to raise awareness about organ donation in memory of his late brother Parvaz, who gave life to four people by donating his organs for transplant following his tragic death. ‘The reason I'm undertaking this challenge is that the last time I ran the Enniskillen 10k I started it with my brother Parvaz. Sadly, he died in 1995 so this is in his memory’ says Mamraz. Mamraz will start the first of his two runs around 5.00am on Saturday morning. He will head out towards Kesh, continue over Boa Island and come back to Enniskillen via the Shore Road where he plans to finish at the Lakeland Forum around 1pm: a distance of approximately 50 miles. He will then take part in the Rotary Club’s 10k run, which he should finish around two o’clock. Eleanor Donaghy of the Belfast City Hospital who is helping to support Mamraz’s runs said ‘We are always grateful to people who take a genuine interest in organ donation and help raise awareness in what ever way they can.’ ‘Mamraz’s double run on Saturday will hopefully help to make a lot of people aware of the importance of registering as an organ donor and of letting their families / partners know of their wishes’, Eleanor added.
