Wednesday 1 August 2008 Transplant Games Team Champions The Northern Ireland Transplant Games Team arrived home victorious having been named the best overall team at the British Transplant Games in Edinburgh. The Team were presented with the coveted Rose Bowl after securing a total of 55 medals and two Championship trophies. Proudly displaying their silverware are Emma Doyle, who took home two gold, two silver and one bronze medal; Brian Armstrong whose four golds and one silver medal earned him the Best Veteran Athlete Trophy; and Turlough O’Hagan who took away three golds and one bronze medal and was named the Best Veteran Swimmer. The Transplant Games highlight the desperate need for more people to sign up to the Organ Donor Register.
