Other Services

Waste

A contract is in place (through Health Estates and the Joint Waste Management Board) with Sterile Technologies Ireland Ltd (STI) for the collection, transportation and disposal of clinical waste, groups A to E. Copies of licences for STI, the transport company and the incinerators are held in the Quality Assurance Department along with copies of transfer notes, consignment notes and invoices.

Chemical waste is collected and disposed of on request by Wilson Waste. Copies of all documentation are held in the Quality Assurance Department.

Household waste on the Musgrave Park Hospital site is collected and disposed of under contract by ONYX SCL. Copies of all documentation relating to the contract are held in the Quality Assurance Department and monitored by the Quality Assurance Officer. Household waste from the Forster Green Hospital site is collected and disposed of by Castlereagh Borough Council.

All contacts relating to waste disposal are monitored by the Support Services Manager. The Support Services Manager deals with all queries and complaints relating to waste disposal. A copy of the Trust's Policy for Disposal of Clinical and Non Clinical Waste can be obtained by contacting:

Cleaning and Catering

ISS Mediclean (under contract to Green Park Healthcare Trust) is responsible for Trust-wide cleaning and catering services. The services are monitored by the Quality Assurance Department in partnership with ISS Mediclean managers. The department also ensures that invoices are verified and any variations approved. Any complaints regarding the services are forwarded to the Quality Assurance department for follow up.
