The Trust currently produces approximately 200 information leaflets and patient leaflets. An index of these leaflets is included in the appendix to this publications scheme. News Releases

Interpreters

Information on how to contact interpreters for deaf patients and for patients who do not speak English is displayed on all wards and public areas. This is also available on the Trust’s web site.

The Northern Ireland Health and Social Services Interpreting Service (NIHSSIS) commenced on Monday 28 June 2004.

The aim of the services is to improve access to health and social services for black and ethnic minority individuals who cannot speak English as a first or competent second language. It will operate on a pilot basis until March 2005.
