Admission

On admission each patient is placed in the care of a Consultant Psychiatrist who will be responsible for their overall treatment.
The planning and provision of treatment and care is based upon a multi- disciplinary team concept and individuals will be involved in drawing up their own Treatment Plan.

Normally the multi-disciplinary team comprises of the Consultant Psychiatrist, Medical Staff, Ward Manager, Named Nurse (Primary Nurse), Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Clinical Psychologist. Other professions allied to medicine are available on request eg chiropody/podiatry, physiotherapy, Optician or Dietitian.

Also on admission patients will be notified of who their named nurse (primary nurse) is. This person has special responsibility for that individuals nursing care.
Every effort will be made to ensure that preference for accommodation in single or mixed sex wards are met.
