Out of Hours Social Work Service

	About the Service The Emergency Out of hours Social Work Service is provided for all those who live within the Eastern Health & Social Services Board.  As well as South & East Belfast Trust this covers: § North & West Belfast Trust § Down & Lisburn Trust § Ulster Community & Hospitals Trust The team provides an emergency social work service to individuals and families who need help outside normal office hours. The service aims to respond to the needs and preferences of service users and to provide a service sensitive to race, religion, language, culture, gender and disability.   Subsequently, the team has access to interpreters and a language line
Service Provided: - An out of hours emergency social work service responding to a wide range of people in crisis - An initial contact point in the event of a civil emergency. - An out of hours service for homeless people on behalf of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive by providing temporary accommodation in cases of assessed need. We do not deal with housing applications, repairs or transfers. - A service on behalf of the Social Security Agency in emergency situations outside normal office hours. We do not deal with new claims or disputes.
Accessing the Service: The service is available to all members of the public, all statutory agencies and other organisations within the Eastern Health Board area, where circumstances require an immediate response to fulfill the Trust's statutory duties. The follow groups of people are all eligible to use the service: Older people People with Physical disabilities People with mental health problems Children & Young people People with learning disabilities Homeless people Families and carers of all these groups
