Speech & Language Therapists assess and work with people of all ages with communication and swallowing problems.
The work with children and adults who have difficulty producing and using speech sounds, difficulty understanding language, difficulty using language, a stammer, or swallowing difficulty.
Some communication problems are as a result of a stroke learning disability, physical disability, neurological disorder e.g. Parkinson’s Disease, cancer, cleft palate or hearing impairment.
Therapists work in a variety of settings – client’s home, Special School, Language Unit, Adult Training Centre and Health Centre or Health Clinic.
