Trauma Resource Centre
The Trauma Resource Centre provides multi-disciplinary treatment for those adults who have been affected by the Troubles. It provides:
- Counselling – This is an opportunity to talk one to one with a professionally trained trauma counsellor about the impact the traumatic event(s) may be having on a persons life. It usually consists of hourly sessions normally held on a weekly basis at the start of therapy
- Occupational Therapy – This provides the opportunity for a person to explore their quality of life and the negative impact trauma may have on their daily ability to cope. The Occupational Therapist will tailor a programme that meets the needs of the individual moving them towards a better sense of health and well-being.
- Physiotherapy – This will assist individuals to explore the physical impact of trauma on the body. It may give them insight to unexplained pains and aches and provide practical ways of coping with the symptoms being experienced.
