Acute Mental Health Day Treatment Service

The Acute Day Treatment Service will provide timely and structured assessment and treatment for service users.  It is an alternative to hospital care and supports early discharge from inpatient services.

Following a comprehensive assessment, Intervention will be provided both on an individual and group-therapy basis.  As assessment and intervention is intensive and focused, it will only last for an average 12 weeks.

As treatment with this service comes to an end, the team will work alongside each individual to plan their discharge.  People leaving this service may, based on their clinical needs, be referred on to other services such as outpatient clinics, community mental health teams, day centres, support workers, or voluntary agencies, e.g. New Horizons.
