Tuberculosis Health Care Service

This service provides:

  • TB screening
  • Contact Tracing
  • Mantoux and BCG Vaccinations to the following groups of people:
    • Asylum seekers and Immigrants who have come from a country with a TB incidence of 40/100,000
    • Children under 16 years whose parents or grandparents were born in a high risk Country
    • Infants under 12 months of age who were born or are living in areas where the incidence of TB is 40/100,000
    • People going to live in a high risk country for more than one month.
    • People who have lived in the same household or been in close and lengthy contact –with someone who has infectious TB
    • Unvaccinated,Mantoux-negative people younger than 35 years i.e. Veterinary staff who handle animal species known to be susceptible to TB
